HomeScale Protect

HomeScale Protect uses various techniques to disrupt the water flow in order to stop scale formation further down the water line. It contains discs of titanium and copper that create a small galvanic current. This current disrupts the ability of scale to form calcite (caCO3) crystals and allows the mineral content to flow safely through as aragonite (still CaCO3).

No there is extremely little impact on the mains water flow after the installation of the Homescale Protect inline scale reducer.

No once again the impact of fitting a HomeScale Protect inline unit has very little effect on water pressure and does not impact on household mains water pressure. Unlike water softeners that can take up to 1bar pressure from the mains and limit the use of an unvented cylinder. An example would be if a HomeScale Protect ½” is fitted and the pressure is 10 Bars, the pressure drop would be 0.04416 m/Bar which is equal to 0.0044%. Using this theory and the same pressure of 10 bar the different sizes of HomeScale Protect would be as such, HSP ¾” 0.0438% and HSP 1” it is 0.0692%.

The best place for a HomeScale Protect unit would be after the mains stopcock because this creates whole home scale protection. If you are requiring just single appliance protection, then the HomeScale Protect unit can be fitted as close to the appliance as required or safe to fit.

Yes definitely, and it is ideal to stop scale formation in any unvented unit and can be a single or whole house scale reducer.

The HomeScale Protect stops up to 76% of scale formation and is unique in the market of scale reduction. When fitted on the main entering the property it can help to reduce scale throughout the house.

Fitting a HomeScale Protect has multiple outcomes and will protect central heating boilers, hot water cylinders, multipoint water heaters, immersion heaters, washing machines, dishwashers, kettles and coffee machines, in fact any water boiling products.

When fitting a HomeScale Protect on the mains entering the property you are now protecting the complete water circuit in the house and all appliances after this. Furthermore, you are also stopping the formation of scale on the various household fixtures and fittings that are in contact with your mains water. This can be seen in a reduction of scale on taps, shower valves, shower screens, toilets and basins for example.

The HomeScale Protect comes in three variants for different size threaded fittings, 1”, ¾” and ½” . All connections would be male BSP fittings to whatever size pipework required. For example, two 1” MIX 28mm compression straights would be required to connect a HSP 1” unit to a 28mm pipe.

A water softener is a chemical treatment unit for hard water and uses salt to change the water entirely to be less hard or less containing calcium carbonate. HomeScale Protect is not a chemical water softener and does not remove calcite crystals, but it does stop the formation of these crystals and allows the good nutrients found in natural water to flow through. Water that has passed through a HomeScale Protect is safe to drink and does not contain high levels of salt that is not suitable for children, adults and some appliances. There is no ongoing maintenance and HomeScale Protect is a very low-cost solution for obtaining a scale free household and protecting the fundamental appliances within the home. It is also relatively easy to fit and does not have any ongoing costs, electrical or bags of inconvenient salt to purchase.

The HomeScale Protect units have shown in tests conducted by IAPMO, https://www.iapmo.org/ to be 76.3% effective at removing limescale deposits on copper heating elements. In competitor comparisons it was four times more effective that the leading electronic scale reduction devices.

The patented Turbulent Galvanic Polarization (TGP) electrode design creates swirling water flow within the HomeScale Protect. It is also environmentally friendly and chemical-free and uses no electricity and is easy to install and accessible to all types of properties and applications.

HomeScale Protect is also WRAS approved, The Water Regulations Advisory Scheme Ltd. (“WRAS Ltd” / “WRAS”) finds that the use, when correctly installed complies with the requirements of The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, The Water Supply (Water Fittings) (Scotland) Byelaws 2014, The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 and all other applicable WRAS requirements.

WashBall

Washball is a unique product that showcases IPS technology and uses this to make your appliances more effective and protects them from scale problems. This applies to washing machines, dishwashers and toilet cisterns.

The best thing about Washball is that there is no ongoing costs or chemicals, so it is environmentally friendly as it reduces washing powder or tablet reliance by 30%, water consumption and just makes you appliance more reliable and effective because of the reduction in scale. IPS effectively prevents the formation of solid sediments and corrosion in cold and hot water appliances. WashBall is a flow-through body with inside placed turbine-shaped electrodes of two different electrically conductive materials. The electrode design is patent-protected (TGP® – turbulent galvanic polarization) and generates a swirling water flow, causing a change in the structure of the minerals.

It is simple all you do is pop it in your washing machine, dishwasher or toilet cistern and use them as normal. You will start to see better washing and cleaning and a limescale free appliance. It is easy and lasts for up to 10,000 cycles.
